Zenith Structural Access Solutions Limited was awarded the contract, by CNRI/MODEC, to design and install a temporary lifting frame to facilitate the replacement of a 1730 kgs flare tip on a FPSO located offshore in the Ivory Coast.
As with all of our offshore projects, a full lifting frame test build, FAT, was undertaken at our test facilities to check fitting and constructability. One of Zenith’s experienced installation crews were selected to perform the trial erection and the same crew was mobilised offshore to carry out the actual flare tip replacement offshore. There is a significant advantage in using the same crew for both the FAT and offshore replacement as it allows the crew to become familiar with the bespoke lifting frame thereby reducing time during the turnaround.
