Fabricator/Plater/Welder
Responsibilities:
- Working in a workshop / factory environment, producing structural steel fabrications, from start to finish, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, ensure quality & accuracy of fabrication work.
- Hands on fabrication & welding with some knowledge of MIG & MMA & TIG welding in Carbon steels with ability working to BS EN 1090.
- Welding and fabrication skills such as cutting using Plasma & Oxy/ Acetylene, marking out, squaring off, etc, Proficient with hand tools as necessary.
- Understanding various weld symbols on drawings, have some basic general welding knowledge of various edge preps before welding.
- Inspecting own work to ensure it meets the company’s high quality standards
- Take reasonable care of own and others safety, co-operate with Manager/Supervisor in complying with statutory health & safety duties, to report incidents, accidents, faults etc.
- Comply with the company procedures in order to protect the environment
About You:
- Previous experience of working in a similar role.
- A sound background in welding/ fitting and fabrication.
- City & Guilds / B Tech First Certificate / NVQ L2
- Ability to weld using different methods to BS EN 9606-1:
- Have good written and spoken English.
- Have the right to work in the UK if not already a UK resident.
- A driving License would be advantageous
- Understand Health & Safety within the workplace
- Ability to work overtime / longer hours when required
