Zenith Complete Bonnington Hydro-Electric Power Station Refurbishment

Building Refurbishment & Conservation Project at Bonnington Hydro-Electric Power Station, located on the picturesque River Clyde in Scotland. This historic power station was built in 1926 and draws water from the stunning ‘Falls of Clyde’. The building itself is a beautiful example of art deco architecture, featuring round-headed cathedral windows and a single-storey, reinforced concrete design. It is also a category ‘A’ listed building, recognized as a site of national architectural importance.

At Zenith, we were tasked with extensive civil repairs both internally and externally, requiring a sympathetic approach to ensure the preservation of the original features. Our team worked meticulously to source materials that closely matched the originals, ensuring that the building’s unique character was maintained throughout the refurbishment process.

We are proud to say that our client was delighted with our approach to the project and shortly after, we were awarded a similar project at the Stonebyres Hydro-Electric Power Station.
