Tongland Power Station was constructed circa 1934 and forms part of the Galloway Hydros scheme. The Station is located approximately 1.5 miles from the town of Kirkcudbright on the A711. The site forms part of the Galloway hydro scheme and uses water from the Ken catchment area to generate electricity.
The objective of the Works was to carry out detailed civil inspections of the assets listed and to prepare reports based on the inspections. Detailed civil inspections involved close access to all parts of the asset and included removal of items of plant/structures to allow better access. Testing also was required such as ultrasonic testing or hammer tap surveys as specified. Zenith was responsible for all work including access and any other provisions.
