Zenith Design Bespoke Lifting Davit for North Sea Platform

Zenith was approached by an existing client to design and supply bespoke lifting davits for a specialist access and repair project on an offshore platform in the North Sea. These davits were necessary for the client’s contractor to gain access to strengthen one of their steel chimney stacks. The client required a safe and innovative solution that would reduce traditional access and lifting methods and allow them to facilitate strengthening works and extend the life span of the steel stack.

Today Zenith simulated the working operation of the davits and performed a factory acceptance test witnessed by Lloyds British and the client’s representatives. Testing took place, at Zenith HQ’s R&D and testing facility.

Following the successful completion of the factory acceptance test the equipment will be dismantled and packed ready to be transferred to the offshore facility. The Zenith team will travel to the offshore facility at a pre-agreed date and install the equipment ready for the client’s contractor to carry out the required scope of works.
